After digging deeper into Pinterest I was wondering what the best Pinterest image size is?
Basic Pinterest Image Size Info
- maximum image width is 554 pixel, anything wider will be resized
- there is no limit to the vertical length of the image, but it would be best to limit it to 5,000 pixels
- an image that is only 300 pixels wide is too small to pin
Why would you want to use a long image?
You can create a whole story with a long image like in the example on the right.
What program should you use to create the image?
I created my image in Photoshop, but Photoshop is expensive. There is an open source alternative to Photoshop called Gimp. This is a program you download and install on your computer. If you don’t want to install anything I recommend the online program called Pixlr that also allows you to work with layers.
